This Online Library is being provided by the project "Integrated Urban Development in Ukraine". The Project is implemented by the German Governmental Company “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH”. It is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Political partner is the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine and national partners are the city administrations of Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv and Poltava.
Following the principles of the Leipzig Charter on Sustainable European Cities, the project introduces in cooperation with the respective city administrations and stakeholders from private sector and civil society in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv and Poltava modern approaches of integrated urban development. Results and tools of that work are documented on this website and meant to help those who are interested in going a similar path for exploiting their potential.
It is divided in three main sections. Section one providing information about the process of urban development as across sectoral planning instrument. Section two providing examples and guidance for managing for sectoral approach from mobility management, regulations for advertisement in public space or role and importance of preserving green areas in the cites. The third section contains relevant documents for the legal and administrative reform of spatial planning and urban construction.
The library contains a selection of manuals, handouts, examples from various cities on how to manage urban affairs in all their complexity. You may browse according to your field of interest and you find short description of the content which allows a quick review as to what extent the document is relevant for you.
