Drive-up of bus service. Bus route №3A, Lviv. Final report, November 2011. Working version

  • Well-regulated passenger transportation is one of the main goals of the public transport system (PTS). Passengers also expect the system to follow the timetable and the availability of reliable bus services. Especially in conditions of competition with the use of private cars, fast and reliable achievement of the goals of the route is crucial for the attractiveness and degree of use of public transport of close communication.

    The study clearly shows, for example, a specific route in Lviv, which tools should be used to accelerate bus service. A holistic approach, as well as its individual modules, can be both adapted for other bus routes in Lviv and used in general when implementing measures to accelerate traffic in other cities through appropriate adaptation to local conditions. The following study relates to a specific bus corridor of route # 11, which runs from Svobody avenue in the city center to the “Auchan” shopping center on the southern outskirts of the city.

    Route number 11 was changed to 3A after the introduction of the new routing network from 01.01.2012.
